Apps that work where the signal does not

Field staff, drivers, gate security and sales teams do not sit at a workstation. When the system only exists on a desktop, the data arrives late and second-hand.

Overview

Apps that work where the signal does not

The apps we build are rarely consumer products. They are the mobile half of an operations system: a driver confirming delivery, a security guard logging a visitor, a technician recording a reading at a plant where there is no reliable network.

That shapes the engineering. Capture works offline and syncs when it can, barcode and camera input replace typing wherever possible, and the screens are usable in one hand, in daylight, by someone wearing gloves.

What the engagement includes
  • Cross-platform builds in Flutter or React Native from one codebase
  • Offline-first data capture with conflict handling on sync
  • Barcode, QR and camera workflows for stock, dispatch and inspection
  • Push notifications tied to the events your operation actually cares about
  • Play Store and App Store submission, including the review paperwork
  • Versioned releases with staged rollout and crash reporting

Capability

What we build under this practice

Field operations

Job cards, checklists, readings and photographic evidence captured on site.

Logistics and delivery

Route lists, consignment scanning, proof of delivery and driver status.

Gate and security

Visitor passes, vehicle entry, weighbridge capture and shift handover.

Sales and order taking

Catalogue, pricing, order entry and customer history for representatives on the road.

Customer-facing apps

Ordering, tracking and account access where your customers expect an app.

Internal tools

Approvals, alerts and dashboards so managers are not tied to a desktop.

How we deliver

Start small, then scale safely

Discovery

Free1 to 2 weeks

We sit with the people doing the work and write down the process as it actually runs. You keep that document either way.

Blueprint and prototype

ClickableFixed scope

A working prototype of the screens that matter most, plus a costed scope. If it does not convince your team, nothing further gets built.

Phased build

Fortnightly demosLive QA

Delivery in the order that relieves the most pain first, with your existing systems running throughout.

Rollout and training

On-site or remoteDocumentation

Data migration, role setup and hands-on training for the staff who will use it daily.

Support and evolution

SLA optionsMonthly retainer

Thirty days of stabilisation, then a maintenance or growth retainer handled by the same engineers.

Questions

What clients ask before starting

Flutter for apps with heavy custom interface work or device integration; React Native where your team already works in JavaScript. We will recommend one after discovery rather than before.

No. Both platforms come from one codebase, which is most of the reason we work cross-platform. Genuinely platform-specific features are handled with native modules where needed.

It should be published under your own developer accounts so you retain control. We set those up with you and handle submission and review responses.

Data is written locally and queued. When connectivity returns the app syncs, and we define up front how conflicts resolve for each type of record.
